- Pick a Segment
- I will be choosing people that are not actively involved with organizations on campus.
- Interviews
- Interview 1
- Need Awareness: She feels really lonely and out of place on campus because she came straight from high school. She finds it really hard to find clubs and organizations on campus especially when she does not use any type of social media.
- Information Search: She started downloading applications that would allow her to connect with her peers. However, it was still hard for her to approach clubs and organizations, even though she has some social medias. Sometimes, the social medias for the clubs and organizations are outdated.
- Interview 2
- Need Awareness: He is not sure what to do on campus. He has always felt this need whenever he thinks about getting an internship or a job. He realized that he needs some type of connection and leadership position.
- Information Search: He tried connecting with alumni, but it did not work as well as he thought it would. It was also hard for him to join clubs and organizations because he felt out of place.
- Interview 3
- Need Awareness: She thought about going to the clubs and organizations. However, she was afraid because she did not have friends who are involved with that club. She feels like she would be a burden.
- Information Search: She tried to message members, but she did not want to sound creepy so she did not. She started downloading more social medias and tried to attend events, but it was hard to find people her year, as she is a transferred student.
- Report the Findings
- I learned that there is an important need for this application for those who are not actively involved with organizations. They want to be involved, but they are not sure how they could approach involvement without feeling awkward. I believe that my application would help people get to know each other better and be able to find the clubs and organizations that they want to be involved in. My application would not treat people as numbers, but people as part of the Gator Nation, and allow for easy access to the foundation of clubs and organizations.
- Draw Conclusion
- This segment feels the need because they want to be involved on campus but are not sure of how they can. They try using applications, but sometimes the information are outdated. I hope to succeed upon this foundation and allow a way for everyone to connect with each other without having to use many applications which may or may not be outdated.

Hi Dan,
ReplyDeleteI feel like it may have been difficult to ask people if they are active on campus, as those type of people maybe harder to find. Unless they have reached out or have made friends I think it was probably hard to get interviewees. On the other hand, you seem like you got really great information from these students. I would've loved to see you expand this research to other schools and see if it is a prevalent issue in other universities as well. This could also broaden your market and increase your number of customers. I think you have a great idea and will be very beneficial to any student!
Hi! I think you asked more or less the right type of people, considering your social media platform would be targeted specifically at them. In response to the earlier comment, I don't necessarily think those types of people are hard to find, especially if you just ask someone while they're walking in Turlington for example. I know I'm not involved with any clubs and I'm still pretty active in walking to class, the gym, and just hanging on campus sometimes. Overall, good job!
