Reflection
Okay, I was not able to turn in my assignment last time on time for the reflection. However, I will comment what I notice in my own video and how I feel like I can improve instead. I originally recorded the first assignment, but I was not able to turn it in because of technical problems.
Due to the circumstance that I was in, I was unable to prop my phone up. However, I believe that dressing like this to appeal to other college students was the most ideal as I show that I was like everyone else. Also, since social media uses a video concept, I believed that a video-like vlog would be appeal-able as a pitch.
I did a lot better, however I used the word "like" a lot. I felt less nervous and more coherent with the way that I was speaking. I was more expressive with my face, and I tried to relate the whole social media platform concept with my background.
There were times where I had to calm myself to think about what to say because it might have not been coherent. For the most part, I think I did a rather fine job compared to my last video, and I hope that I can further improve more and more.
There is nothing that I can really change on my feedback because I did not receive any last time. However, I think I could have incorporate more movements within my speech. Hopefully, next time if I ever approach an elevator pitch, I will feel more confident, use less of the word "like" and incorporate more of a dynamic movement.
Hey dan!
ReplyDeleteI watched your video and read your reflection, I think you did a good job being honest with yourself about the quality of your pitch. You mentioned the way you dress and I absolutely agree! You have a very casual outfit on and I think that helps make you relatable to college students. Your social media platform is made by students for students, so I think you took the correct approach. You did use the word "like" a lot, which I think you could improve on. But truthfully don't worry about that too much, I think in a way that makes the pitch less formal-- it sort of matches the energy of the product. I think you're onto something with the casual approach. Keep up the good work!
